Added water in January 2003.
Mostly Caribbean biotype.
Size: 300G (96x24x30H) + 60G refugium
Lighting:
3x Kessil 360WE w. Kessil controller
3x 21" tubular skylights
Circulation:
2x closed loop driven by:
2x 3"x5' airlifts (~500 GPH each)
Vectra M1 (reef crest mode)
Sicce Synchra 3 (feeds skimmer; gravity return)
Tunze Stream 6105 (on 10 second cycle, off at night)
The refugium is in line with one of the airlifts
Temperature:
Typically stays between 77 & 79F
Aquarium room thermostat is set at 75.
300W heater in tank set at 75.
Aqua Logic chiller set at 79.
Controlled by ReefKeeper Lite
Refugium:
2x Kessil 160 pendants over Chaetomorpha
Sicce Synchra 2 for circulation
Filtration:
Deep sand bed in both DT and refugium
Chaetomorpha in refugium
Reef Octopus Regal 200EXT skimmer
GFO reactor
Activated carbon
ATO & Dosing:
Top-off by Spetrapure dosing pump, adjusted as needed
Kalk in the top-off water as needed
30ml/day vinegar (BRS dosing pump)
Water changes:
10% every 2-4 weeks. Reef Crystals
Note: the tank incorporates a Reverse Carlson Surge Device (RCSD) chamber at one end. This worked
but was deactivated ~2006 because the chamber was hard to seal at the top and it made too much noise.
Long lived fish, still alive in January 2018:
Royal Gramma: 2004
Atlantic blue tang: 2005
