Stop the world! I want to get off!

Posted 03/09/2012 at 08:16 PM by Spaced Cowboy

So, it's been a while since I posted here - even finding the thread was something of a job, it being on the 13th page now. I *do* have a good reason for that, and he looks like this:

Dragonets have special feeding requirements because they have a very high metabolism and are grazers requiring nearly constant supply of food such as copepods and amphipods. On average they will eat

Since RC requires prices, lets say $5 per head.

I'm looking for some torch... anyone have some they can frag or are looking to get rid of?
Any frags left? Would like at least one of each. Thanks, Mike...

Can I keep a mandarin or scooter?

Posted 03/03/2012 at 11:44 AM by Sk8r

A mandy should be making a successful 'kill' of a pod every 5 seconds to remain healthy. Keeping one in a well-established 50 with 50 lbs of holey rock, and a mature, year-old 20 gallon fuge with another 20 lbs of rock is very marginal. If you meet those conditions and there is no competition for pods, you can do it with caution.

To run the math, there are 86400 seconds in 24 hours...and given 12 hours of dark when it is not eating (it actually eats before the lights come on...that...

Jumpin' Jawfish Batman!

Posted 03/01/2012 at 06:54 PM by Aaarrrggg (Aaarrrggg's 144g Half Circle Dream)

Well it seems I might have spoken too soon about my "happy" Jawfish. A few hours after posting last, I heard a loud "plop" come from the tank. I went over to find Kululu sitting on the sand looking agitated after presumably jumping out and bumping his head on the plastic edging at the top of the tank. Well at least my jawfish defenses seem good enough to prevent carpet surfing!

The next day he was nowhere to be found in the tank. Growing increasingly panicked,...
