Hagen GLO T5 Ballast
 

Has anyone heard anything about these?

I got one the other day for $50. It comes with prewired water-resistant endcaps and is a 2 X 54. I have it on 2 39 watt 36" bulbs and it is surprisingly bright. For such a low price I worry about the lifespan of the ballast and the starting method... I've read some can shorten the lifespan of the bulb depending on the starter type.

Any rumors, horror stories, or questions welcome.
