I have a 4100 for my return and a 2400 for my skimmer. Using both for over a year now with no rust problems. I clean them about once every 3 or 4 months.

So the problem of the rusting has been fixed?

I have a 2400 and 4100 and both rusted, and they are 6mths old tops. I just fixed them by using krylon fusion and putting about 3-4coats on them. No problems after that. They just need to be sealed correctly. I don't know why the manufacturer didn't do that, but oh well.

I read somehwere I cant remember but a genx is like a sedra and a resun king pump. Is that right?

Happy, what model are you looking at and I think it depends on where you get it from. Marine and reef sells the rusted genx's. DIYreef sells the rusted eco plus pumps. Its going to be hit or miss. Last week there was a guy with a brand new ER skimmer and his genx had exposed metal so it just depends.

genx 1000 from thereefstop.com If its a easy fix than I'll throw some silicone ok it.

Genx, eco, resun, king, there all ko's of the sedra, even the dolphin and others out there being spawned as we speak that are ko's.

The octo's are the oct2000, 3000, and 5000available in australia, so 500gph, 750gph, and 1000gph, and there ko's are the odyssea wp500, wp700 and wp1000, all of which i have used. The wp500 will do 15scfh easily, wp700 at 25 easily and wp1000 at 45scfh easily. FWIW, i think the wp's are great pump's and have ran them for over 1.5yrs solid with no problems. The wp1000 is fairly large and not to efficient(130w) but with alot of air pry runs around 80-100w.

What are you going to run it on? The octo hot?
