PowerModule is Here... Now What do I Do?!
 

Folks,

Many thanks to the person who replied back to my post a few weeks back. For some reason, I can't seem to find it... My Powermodule just turned up, and really could use some help trying to get in hung. There are zero instructions on how to do this....

Can anyone lend a hand with some on-line advice/pics of how you went about doing this? I did try the search function, but for some reason it only provides search results back a few weeks, thus not showing any threads on this subject.

Let me give it a try. Provided that you have the same hanging kit, this is how
I hung mine. This is how the wire from the ceiling attaches to the light.

First we hung the silver holders to the ceiling.

We chose to use 1 X 3's and anchored those into the ceiling because
we did not have studs above the ends of the tank. If I remember
correctly, on one end of the long hanging wire there is a little
metal "ball" that will hold the wire up into the ceiling. Feed the smooth
end of the wire into the silver holder, and pull it all the way through
until that "ball" is inside of the holder. Then the holder gets screwed
into the ceiling. You should now have a wire hanging down.

This wire will get fed into the metal holder that is attached to your light.
In order for it to go in you have to push down on the button on the top
of the metal holder as you feed the wire through.

Repeat this on the other side and you're all set. Now to raise the light, just pull
the end of the wire tightly as you push up on the bottom of the metal holder.
To lower the light, push the button in as you hold the end of the wire to control
how fast it comes down.

I hope this isn't too confusing. I'm not great at explaining directions.

HI Can you explain a little bit more on how you were able to hang that wire on the ceiling without any studs? Is the ceiling just dry wall?

I mean, how were you securing the hanger on the ceiling without any studs.

If i understand correctly he did use screws to secure the top part to the selling the thing is he use a 1 x 3 piece of wood cause there was no secure anchoring point in the celling meaning its dry wall

So what he did was cross the tank area with the wood (1x3) to reinforce the attachment point and then screw the top part to the wood

Screws are not seen in the top part cause they go thru the inside of the top part

Thanks folks! The biggest problem I'm having is trying to get the fixture centered right to left and front to back over the tank. I can't seem to get it hung properly over the tank. Right now the fixture is up, but not centered correctly at all...

Any ideas?

It is a PITA :). It took me a few tries to get it perfect. Set the fixture on a cuple boards over your tank, so you can get it exactly where you like. Measure to the center point between the 2 wires on each side. Use a plumb bob, center it to the mark on the fixture, and use that to mark the ceiling.

It is easier with 2 people, as the stupid bob never stops swinging, and it took me 2 tries using that to even get it.
