Bulb and Ballast request for Sanjay
 

Hi Sanjay,
I've always found your information on par values very interesting and educational. I have chosen many bulbs based on the data you've collected. I have a request for you though, if you can make it happen. I recently purchased a pair of Plusrite 20k, 250 watt, SE bulbs. They've been over my tank for a little over a month and my corals have colored up and really started growing. Would you mind running a test on these bulbs with EVC ballasts? I'd like to see how they compare to many of the name brand bulbs. If you can get your hands on a few of the other "generic" bulbs, that would be great too. For those of us that can't always afford to shell out top dollar for the big names, it'd be nice to know what we're getting for half the price. Thanks for your consideration.

Let's try to see if Sanjay will do this. Maybe if enough people show interest, he'll do it.

I'll second that. Many people looking at the Plusrites since the economy slowed down so it would be interesting to see if they even come close to the PAR of the big name brands or if they are just another pretty light. ;-)

i would like to know too, i already own plusrites and would like to know if ill stick with them or switch for my next bulb

Have them send me a bulb and I'll test it the next time I run a set of tests.

I emailed Plusrite with the request, but I haven't received a reply yet. Have they contacted you directly?

Have the bulbs been tested yet? I have a pair of 10K bulbs that I have been burning for about 2-3 months. I was thinking about getting a new pair, are you interested in testing these?

I have not received any of these bulbs. I'll test if someone wants to send new bulbs.

I have pulserite 10k that I can send you, they have been burned daily for a while, but they are not terribly old. PM me your shipping info.
