Opinions on tank backgrounds...?

what is everyones opinion on backgrounds? Nothing, Blue, black, some type of polyp... any other good creative ones?

SLane15 11/10/2009 01:43 PM

tint?

Jgoal55 11/10/2009 01:53 PM

I like black....I went with a blue tint on my 90 and I liked it but overall I think I like the black better. colors pop more.

Black until coraline....

drpo21 11/10/2009 02:37 PM

coraline will take over anyways, might as well just stick with nothing or if you have to, black would be my preference

If you like the clean look and scrape the coraline from back, like i do, then Black is my preference. Easy to do with black paint on outside glass.

black. if your going with the rimless look i wouldnt put anything, like Sonny's tank on the sps forum but his is really clean

I have blue, tank came that way. I have a wide area in the middle open and when it is clean it looks really nice, gives an impression of depth.

white, so it will reflect more light in the system and fill with Coraline faster.

ecureefer 01/01/2010 05:17 PM

i like black and ive thought about trying blue but for now im sticking with black

flfireman1 01/01/2010 05:55 PM

Definetly Black. I had blue when I originally set up my tank and it just made everything blend in. When I moved, I decided to repaint the back and went with black. Much better in my opinion. Corals and rock seem to pop out more!

black...hands down

I have a tank where I've put a mirror on the back and it gives the tank a nice depth look and reflects the light nicely. Looks like you have twice the tank!

black limo tint is the best. I like gluing frags (gsp, xenia, etc) to the back so it grows over the glass. looks cool/nice just takes time.

coralfragger101 01/02/2010 05:14 AM

Black first and then - Natural GREEN: Just glue some GSP frags to the back of it. Easy to control as well.

Although as others have stated, unless you are going to keep the back clean - it really doesn't matter. Mine started off black but you almost can't tell anymore.

black for me
