Mix and Match LED

Has anyone try to mix and match LED lighting from different manufactures? I would like to keep the warm whites you would get from MH. BTW, I am running two 400w 14k and supplementing with two 48" actinic VHO.

I have these and my 2- 250w 10k halides completely drown them out.

My apology, I should have posted with more clarity. I want to switch completely over to LED and need to know if mixing and matching LED system to get that warm look of MH.

Your question is flawed. It seems to me that there is no 'one' MH look. The specific MH bulb(s) used will determine the look of the tank. And that can be anything from 20K to 6500. As far as LEDs go, most of the major manufacturers use a combination of cool white, blue and royal blue. I have 4 AI Sol Super Blues over my 90gal bow and am currently running them 60W, 50B, 50RB at peak and that gives a very nice '14K' look.

I am really not sure what you are asking, but you can get just about any color temp you want from leds.

With just cool/neutral white and blue/royal blues and dimmable ballasts you can adjust the colors individually to get what ever color you want. I have 42 neutral white and 42 royal blue and the only things I have a problem with is getting it really blue with the white all the way up and I have been thinking about add maybe 14 or 28 more blue leds to achieve what I want. If you want I can take some pictures or a video of going through the intensities.

I am running two 400w 14k Hamilton. Right now the tint is a bright white with a tint of yellow, It's like diving around Maui. The
Coal shop has the AI Sol Blue on his 250 display tank and it is too bright white. He adjusted the light to show me the different variation of tints and output. The lights are fantastic but it still didn't come close to what I have have at home. I want to switch over to LED because I have heard and see good growth results from using LED. Should I just pull the trigger on the LED lights and go from there?

If you like bright white with a tint of yellow you should use neutral whites mixed with royal blues

I am guessing that with enough time spent on tweaking the system, I can find a happy medium.
