newbie with questions on cycling fish and corals
 

I am new to the reef world, Im excited about it, scared im lacking an enourmous amount of info and eager to learn everything I can to be successful and create a piece of the ocean in my home.

As I said Im scared lol scared I will screw up. At this time my 150 g tank is still cycling but its only been up 5 days and my ph is 8.0, nitrate 14, nitrite 5, amomonia 0.25 and salinity is 1.025 so it still has some time to cycle and I am using this opportunity to plan the type of fish and coral is good to start with.

I am up for suggestions, for everything that I need to learn. such as books to read, determining how much of a clean up crew I will need, initial fish to place in ( im leaning towards clowns) and initial everything.
All help and info would be greatly appreciated and suggestions for learning all I can through books, sites, people, you all would be great also.

there are stickies at the top of the new to hobby forum that will help. What else do you have besides the tank. EX: how much live rock, a sump, skimmer, powerheads, lights. this is all useful info for people to try to help with your setup. good luck

Don't rush ,take your time and do ALOT of research. Many of us will help you but I've found it easier to try and search the answer before asking.

Try your best to read everything on this site, as a start. Then read the threads about problems that other have and learn from their mistakes instead of making the mistake yourself. Just read, read, read. Reading doesn't replace experience, but it is a lot cheaper.

In order to decrease the chances of making a mistake, read the stickies. We will need more specifics about your setup, it sounds like you are taking the right steps and informing yourself. Welcome aboard!
