Dual 250 Vue Tech ballast failing
 

I'm guessing bad electronics here, I borrowed a dual 250W ballast, lamps, reflectors, etc from a buddy for a temp tank. Worked great, no problems. One day I come down and the lights are off mid day.

I unplug and set up some temp T5HOs. Next day for kicks I plug the MH in again, works fine.

Now fast forward to 2+ weeks later, they are out again. So I unplug overnight, come home for lunch and set up my GoPro to take pics at 60 second intervals, plug it in, lamps fire up, 44 minutes later they go off.

It's a 5-6 year old ballast. Any ideas? Is it shot? Or can it be repaired?

It seems like if it was overheating, it would cool off and then come back on eventually. Battery ran out on GoPro so I could see if this was happening though.

Is this typical?
