Carbon/GFO reactors for 230 gallon
Need to get some reactors for my 230 gallon total system volume set up.
The BRS one's look good and are pretty cheap, but each one is only rated for 120 gallons. What do you larger tank guys recommend? Nexreef/Reef Octopus/Avast...... |
fwiw, i have the black brs reactors. standard size in my 180. even though they are rated for a small tank, i only use 1 cup of carbon 1 cup gfo, so the reactors work for me. if i used any more gfo, i would probably see negative affects.

Do you have a link to the black ones?
I haven't seen them. The video that BRS has on their reactors say they are only good for up to 120 gallons. |

The acrylic is very high quality and very robust. The reactor has a pretty good flow through and you can hook it up to another reactor easily with the same pump. If you have a low load or not a lot of problems with po4 - the BRS will probably do fine - otherwise I would recommend something a bit more robust. |
