new custome long tank and tang
just curious...
i have to get a custom tank made because i am moving to a new apt and i have to spread out the weight. i will be doing a tank that is probably 72 inches long and probable 12 inches tall and 16/18 inches in depth. will my chevron tang be able to stay in there as he matures? i love this fish so my tank revolves around him... lol |
If you make the tank a little taller that would be better long term wise, so 18" instead of the 12". As it stands 72x18x12 is 67g if you make it 72x18x18 it's 101g

ya i probably cant do that... which sucks... but it is what it is...
|
Do you know the amount of load your allowed? Is the tank going to be on a outside wall?
|
i think it is 60 lbs per square foot. and the tank would be on a load bearing wall
|
60 lbs/ft2 is insanely small. There is more weight on one foot when you walk around unless you're just tiny!!
Suggest you get a standard 150 or 125. See estimated weights here: http://freshaquarium.about.com/od/aq...zesweights.htm |
