Red Sea Reefer - how do you adjust the float switch

Does anyone with a Red Sea Reefer know if it's possible to adjust the float switch higher so the ATO keeps more water in the return pump chamber?

I think it's set to a water height of 6". I haven't tried to adjust it myself, but the manual says 6" and it makes no mention of adjustability.

it is not recommended but it can be done by adjusting the floater angle.
This is done with the little screw on the floater elbow.

why not recommended? the factory default leaves only 5" of water in the return chamber.

I did it to mine, I wanted a liitle more water in the return section... no problems at all and I don't see why it would be.

Did you have to take the float switch out to adjust the screw?

Caurimare 11/19/2015 02:44 PM

yes I did .... it was easier that way. just disconnect the hose, unscrew the nut and it comes right out.

uhm...no you can just move it and it clicks. No need to adjust any screws. there are instructions by steve from red sea somewhere on these forums.
