what is the best way to raise mg

what is the best way to raise mg?

I am currently using Tropic Marin Bio Magnesium, however it gets a little pricey due to the size of my tank (over 400 gallons).

Is there a faster/ better way.

From what I've read, epsom salt. Epsom salt is Magnesium Sulfate. I'll try to find the info. about it for you.

epson salt can do it, however it will also leach sulfate....

That Tropic Marin stuff is really good stuff, so is the calcium, I first used it when I got into the hobby. It is very pricey though. I bought a gallon of the Kent magnesium stuff, all it takes is a cap or two, I've had it for over year and haven't used half a gallon, don't think it cost me more than 30$. I have a calcium reactor also though, so I'm only boosting from 1150 to 1500.

I use epson salt you can also use magnesium chloride combined with epson salt.Over time epson salt will leach sulfate into system but I am not sure how much.I am using it for the last 6 months no problem.I would say its safe to use for now untill you find a cheaper method.

it will be impossible to find in Arizona...LOL, but I use snow/ice melt..(MagFlakes)...it comes in 50lb bags and even with shipping to you ...it's probably still cheaper that using those products........check out Randy's forum, plenty of info there.......living in cold areas does have it's benefits.:)
