I have indeed used hard tubing connected to a peristaltic pump. As mentioned every pump is different. If the pump you're using requires a soft tube and compression fitting for hookup and you don't want to use some sort of adapter, then rigid wouldn't be the best solution for direct hookup to the pump. There is however a reason that even super clean RO/DI water is recommended to be stored in a sealed, dark, movement free container.
