I run just t5s on my tank but I have it set up for my super purple and super blue plus to come on at 8 and then my other super blue and daylight come on at 9 then turn off at 7 then my super blue and purple turns off at 8 then moonlights all night... they stay on for 12hrs you have to decided what's best for you so that you can enjoy it when your home
