I picked up a 40gal breeder tank today at Petsmart to use for a quarantine tank -- it was a return that I got for 50% off, so it seemed like a reasonable deal.

It came with a single lamp flourescent fixtue that is of no use to me, but on it box it says: "Designed For Freshwater Use Only"

That seemed strange to me because I don't understand how a fixture would know that it was perched above freshwater or saltwater??? Maybe many fixtures say that I just never noticed it before.

While this lame piece of junk is headed to the trash, I was just wondering if anyone knew why a light fixture would say that and what the difference might be?
