Thanks, I will say that the depth in mine is for more water volume, the skimmer actually sets on an adjustable platform. With the depth I use for my sump the return will empty about 12 Gal into the show tank. The reason for this is because if the overflow was to clog my show tank can hold 16 gal before it overflows all over the floor. I don't fill the sump to the top just incase the return stops working the sump will hold enough water to go just under the overflow so it doesn't overflow the sump. You don't want to learn that the hard way with an indoor saltwater swimming pool.
