Good Ways to Remove ATI's for Servicing?
Is there a decent way to take ATI units down for servicing, e.g., to replace the T5's?
I have PowerModule/LED hybrids (just got, haven't hung them yet), and before I suspend them was wondering what sorts of mechanisms people use to facilitate servicing the units.
My last large fixture years ago was Current USA Outer Orbit HM/T5 combo. There were slots in the top of the housing that metal anchors at the ends of the hanging wires would slide into, so I could take the fixture down easily by sliding the metal anchors out of the slots. In the ATI unit, on the other hand, there is a wire loop hard-installed at each end of the unit, so that approach won't work.
Do people simply slide the hanging wire back out of the little metal self-gripping barrel that is installed along that wire loop, to remove the unit from the metal strand that goes up to the ceiling? I had wanted to snip the excess material from the hanging strand and crimp a little collar onto the end, to finish it off and prevent fibers from splaying apart, which would interfere with that approach. Hence my inquiry.
