I have a remora pro with a mag7 driving it hanging on my 20 gallon sump/refuge. Couple of questions: Is the mag7 too large (the remora is performing, i think, better than it did with the mag3 it came with, but the skimmate is very wet) for this skimmer? I've read that too large a pump can cause it to not operate efficiently.

The pump is sitting on the bottom of the sump. Would it be better to have it near the the surface of the water (the area the pump is in is about 9"wx7"lx12"d and that's where the overflow drains into the sump)?
