anyone running a split lighting schedue?

just wondering if anyone out there is running a split lighting schedule.

I am playing around with this idea to have if off a few hrs mid day so I can enjoy it later in the night. IMHO prime viewing time.

something like this.
on 9-11.
off1 to 3
on 3 to 11

I am sure this has been talked about but a quick search did not bring anything up.

any cons to this?

cheers,

Yea I would stick with a 10hr day max and just start your time for lights on later in the day. In nature there isnt a time during the day where the sun isn't out even if there is clouds.

I have considered this as well as I like my tank to be lit in the morning as I get ready for work and then in the evening when I am at home. I wouldn't think the corals would have any trouble, but I bet the circadian rhythms of the fish would be upset. However, you could give it a shot and see how your fish do.

What about Alaska, I think they have some days in nature that the sun is not out even if there are clouds.
