What octo stays the smallest?
I just started work at an LFS and we ordered a blue-ring. I dont know a lot about them and I'm pretty sure we prolly wont sell him. I feel kinda bad and I would take him if I could. I dont really know anything about him at all except that hes deadly. He has kind of sparked an interest though so does anyone have a good website for me to learn more? I am reading up some of the old threads.

Ok no blue ring octo.... What is the smallest NON-DEADLY octopus?
How big of a tank would this speices need?

Buying a octopus is not as easy as going to a LFS and picking out exactly what you want. Most of the time you never know what your getting till you get it. So buying a pygmy octo is not all that simple.
I recomend a 30 gallon tank as the smallest set up for a octo. This will be a good size size for the most common octos in the trade.

Buying and octo is that easy if you are the Satlwater manager at the LFS in charge of all orders and sales.

What normally happens is that the exporters to your shop/ wholesaler dont always know what they catch. If you ask for "pygmy" you may get an adult pygmy with 2 months left of its lifecycle to go; or you may get a baby from a species that grows large.
Being a manager for saltwater will mean you have easier access but getting the right species is the tricky part!
