I received a PurpleTang from LF guy that sells out of his basement.
He gave it to me free if it dies. It has ich but is still eating well. He said if I can cure the ich then pay him something for the Tang
So know it is in my hosiptal tank.

Can you combine hyposalinity and copper at the same time to cure ich or would that be to extreme.

Thanks

Purple tang,
I don't recommend combining the two treatments. For one thing there is not an advantage to using both at the same time. Besides that, diluted saltwater tends to fall in pH and alkalinity. If this happens and you have copper in the water the copper becomes much more toxic. In short this is a potentionally lethal combination. If it was my fish I would use hyposaliity.
Best wishes,
Terry B

Hypo by itself will work very well. No need to use copper at the same time, especially as it gets very trick to do so.

Thanks very much for the advise. I will go with Hypo salinity. I had know ideal that that copper would become toxic if the PH dropped.
