Getting a New 150T - Thinking of Going DSB

I've always like sand, but just really the look. I have a reefer 350 that I will be swapping out for a 150T. I was originally going to go with a standard 120 48x24x24 but thought, with a 150T I can go with a 6 to 8" DSB. I didn't want to reach down in a 30" deep but with a higher sand bed this won't be an issue and I should benefit from the DSB.

I'll also have a 70G fuge and sump in the basement but just trying to think through the whole setup as I'm about to order the tank.

Also I have pretty large live rock so is it ok if the rock is at the bottom of the tank with sand around it up 6 or 8" as well? I would feel off placing rock on top of a DSB, still think it should be on the glass bottom.

Any other considerations here? Thoughts? Experiences?

In my opinion if you are implementing the dsb for nutrient control I think there are far more better options that you should explore.

Also agree, but if you do want a DSB then don't put it in the display but rather a compartment in your sump or a separate but in-line refugium. Easier to remove when it gets "full".
