Links to marine plant sites

Hows about we start a thread of links to marine plant articles and information, applicable to reef/lagoon/seagrass tanks, that can be found on-line? Maybe Bill will sticky it and we can add new stuff as we find it. Here are a few basic sites I know of:
Smithsonian (Fort Pierce) Seagrass Habitat Page Be sure to follow the links to seagrass specie descriptions at the bottom of the page. Also has an extensive bibliography. Very good seagrass site.
Smithsonian (Fort Pierce) Mangrove Habitat Page
U of Ireland Seaweed Site Home of a searchable algaebase for seaweeds.
One more, pretty academic, but very interesting from the perspective of cultivating macroalgaes to absorb primary nutrients: Nitrogen-vs phosphorous limited growth and sources of nutrients for coral reef macroalgae

Thumbs up National University of Ireland/algae database...

Thanks, piercho! Ya beat me to my favorite link! Not trying to be redundant, but this fun one needs broadband for thumbnail gallery...a neat way to I.D. hitchhiker algaes.

www.BarrReport.com will be addressing Marine plants as the FW portion is done.

I'd originally considered doing each section with inclusion iof Marine plants but have since rethought this.

I feel marine plants deserve their own seperate articles and rightly so, all the coral and FW plant snobbery has chapped my hide.

I will be holding the first marine planted tank contest next year also.

Regards,
Tom Barr

This link has many seagrass-related scientific papers and was pointed out by RC member Mark: SEAGRASS MANAGEMENT: IT'S NOT JUST NUTRIENTS! Proceedings of a Symposium August 22–24, 2000

Marine phytoplankton culture

Provasoli-Guillard National Center for Culture of Marine Phytoplankton (CCMP) A valuable phyto culture website located by graveyardworm (Dave).
F/2 culture medium constituents
Culturing method
CCMP Mission
These guys also sell cultures and have a larger variety than Florida Aqua Farms, but I don't know if they want to deal with private individuals.

Plankton Culture

Florida Aqua Farms. Why link a vendor in marine plant information link thread? FAF publishes Hoff and Snell's Plankton Culture Manual While you can find quite a bit of information on plankton culture on the internet, the culture manual is a very good resource, IMO, and this is where you can get it. Details culture methods for phytoplankton, including hobby-scale techniques. Also information on culture of several types of Zooplankton and live zooplankton substitute.

Diazotrophyand diversity of benthic cyanobacteria in tropical coastal zones; Karolina Bauer; Mats formed primarily of cyanobacteria are not uncommon in reef tanks. There is a lot of information within this thesis about these mats and the cyanobacteria that make them. ALSO: Some information about the current taxonomy of cyano (Order/Family/Genus); explanation of N2 fixing in cyanos; the formation of Heterocysts (specialized N2 fixing cells); N2 fixing not involving Heterocysts; diel cycles and N2 fixing...IOW a lot of info on how cyanos can fix nitrogen and how it's related to mat building in marine environments.
