How to setup ATO from basement
I am setting up an ATO on a tank that will have the ATO reservoir in the basement. I assume you can’t just buy a tunze ato and plumb it like a tank with the reservoir in the tank stand.. Any suggestions for things I would need to make this happen?
Thanks Nick Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Booster pump or peristaltic pump is your answer

This is what I use. Its expensive but it works flawlessly.
https://www.spectrapure.com/product/...-uplc-ato-115/ This pumps water from a basement reservoir to upstairs. |

ok.. the water will ever only want to run one way when the pump is turned off. Thats downhill back to the basement. When it does, it will want to create a siphon. So make sure you have the output of the water tube well above the water line where it will exit. That will help break the siphon "if" one is started.(more on that below). Secondly, you could use this pump which is relatively cheap and as long as it stays primed will work ok I think. I use this setup as my ATO in a similar situation as you.
Something "like" this ... you choose which pump you really want, this one doesn't seem too bad. Just check the pressure and flow rate of the pump you're getting..you don't need a sprayer! : ) https://www.ebay.com/itm/6L-MIN-130P...UAAOSwOZNcsDfY Then you can put something like this on the tubes to stop the back siphon and will help the pump stay primed. I know it says self priming but it will not self prime that high above the supply tank. If the pump stays primed it will move the water almost anywhere. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 This is a 12 volt pump so you'll need to find an old laptop power supply or something to power it but I think this will work for you. Again, I have this setup and it seems to work relatively well. |

I have the Spectrapure ULPC-ATO and though it’s pricy, I absolutely love it.
For a less expensive alternative, take a look at the Avast pressure switch ATO paired with their diaphragm pump. You can get the ATO in a controller compatible or standalone version and the diaphragm pump, perfect for basement installation as it’s noisy, can push serious distances at 30psi of pressure. https://www.avastmarine.com/products/ato-kit https://www.avastmarine.com/products/diaphragm-pump

I am using
http://www.autotopoff.com/products/DS1/ + https://www.avastmarine.com/products/diaphragm-pump + Indoor/Outdoor Extension Cord Tank and Sump are on ground floor and the R/O unit and water container is in the basement. The diaphragm-pump is not quiet, but the pump only runs for couple seconds once a while. This small pump is powerful. |

Thank you for all of the replies! I think I’m going to pull the trigger on this unit. It says on the website: coupled with their LiterMeter III, programmable 3 channel precision dosing system... and that costs $295. So this would be a total of $574??? Or does it come with the LiterMeter III in addition to the probes but costs less than just the LiterMeter III? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You can turn the Litermeter III and the UPLC-ATO on and off with the power bar, but they have their own independent onboard controller. However, if you just need on and off control for ATO use using GHL optical or float switches, you can get the Litermeter basic pump.
