Reef Breeders Phonton V2
Thinking of buying this LED lights. Question to those who own this LED. Does this LED have those rainbow effect that shows on the bottom?
I've noticed, looking at the LFS that have radion and ai in their display tank, that on it has multicolors glimmering on the corals & sand. I noticed that kessils does not have this effect - the colors are more even. |

Almost any led fixture that has red and green leds in an aray that is spread out like it is on the Photon will. If all the leds are bundled up close like a Radion it's much less if at all. Two possible solutions, 1) change the red and green leds for blue or white, 2)each color is on a separate channel, so just turn them off.

Yeah, good catch BTW. But it's getting me to find the time to shop, buy and install them. I got an Apex (unneeded) and a Gyre (also unneeded) because they were unbelievable deals. Now they're both just sitting around waiting for me to get them going. But I've been doing a LOT of coral moving and fragging over the past month. Our local club Coral Auction is next month and I want to have a full compliment of frags and small colonies to sell. That and working on my hot rod Miata and repairing recent tornado damage and remodeling the kitchen... you get the idea.

I added mine due to loosing color in the shaded areas, I only run them for 5 hours a day during peak light cycle for my led's. The response from my tank was very apparent, much better colors and growth.
