Redsea Max-E question

I just ordered the Max-E 170, and am trying to find out if you add the optional in cabinet sump to this system can you still use the back sump at the same time? I would like to put the cabinet sump down in my basement for easier top off, water changes, refugium and extra biological filtration, but still want to use the sump in the back for Skimmer and just the extra water volume for a more stable system.

Yes you can use the sump in back. Make sure you use the plug so water dont siphon to back of sump into your below sump in case of power outage. The skimmer that comes with Red Sea will not be able to use with the optional sump if that is what you mean. You will need a skimmer for the optional sump which is preferred anyway.
