Lighting A 40 Gallon
Hey Everybody,
I've got a 40 gallon breeder I'm redoing. New plan-I've got Crocea and Squamosa clams, and I plan on keeping mainly softies-toadstools, sinularia, etc. I've currently got two MH pendants, a 175Watt screw in and a 150 watt HQI. Any suggestions on bulb type? I was thinking two 15000K XM's, but I've heard the PAR is a bit low on them. Thanks!

Do you plan to run the halides stand alone? I would go with 10k halides and lots of actinic if possible, other wise I would go with 14-15k bulbs. You will get less part but the 40g breeder is not that tall so I think it will still work fine. I like XM 10k's and 14k Hamiltons.

Entropy,
Yeah, I'm running straight MH, no room for VHO's. I was definitely looking at 15k just based on their color. Good to know I got a shallow tank Thanks!
