Thinking about a tank switch....
I have a 90 gallon reef and a 220 FOWLR. I woud like to flip the 2 tanks turning the 220 into a reef. Moving the LR, Inverts and corals is all pretty simple but what is the best way to capture some of those wonderful litte pods that help my reef tank along. The only thing I can think of is to syphon them out at night and then add them to the 220. That along with moving my fuge might do the trick. My 220 has over 200 bs of LR but nothing really in the pods department.

Put a open container with a filter pad in it and a piece of cocktail shrimp over night in the pod tank. Remove it and the pad should be loaded with pods the next day.

wow, what a really simple idea. I was going to suggest something else entirely but I like his idea better, lol.
fwiw, you can seed the "new" reef tank with some of the old sand. If you are moving a refugium to the new tank as well, that in itself will seed the tank with pods. similar to Waterkeepers suggestion, I have a HOB walmart powerfilter on my fuge, the filter pad in there catches all sorts of pods that I use to feed the display from time to time.
