bubblers

i have heard about a half dozen methods that people use for the removal/extermination of bubble algae. i am curious to see what all of you have to say. what do YOU do? (current parameters: SG 1.022 - pH 8.2 - ammonia 0 ppm - nitrite 0 pmm - nitrate 10 ppm - phos .25 ppm - calcium 440 ppm)

Gary just said it well so I will past his quote here.

Use the same techniques used to curb other nuisance algae growth: limit nutrient input, increase nutrient export and get some herbivores that eat the algae.
Many people just add herbivores, but that's merely recycling. After the recyclers eat the algae you need to keep feeding them- which can defeat the original purpose of their introduction.
Protein skimming , algae scrubbing (via a lit refugium), using RO/DI water, regular partial water changes and avoiding an accumulation of detritus while maintaining ideal water parameters will usually defeat any nuisance algae.

Here's what I do for any algae I get in my tank. I keep two emerald crabs in my tank and feed them seaweed a time or two a month. I have always had good luck with them removing bubble algae. I use ro/di water and when I see algae (any kind) I watch how much I'm feeding much closer.
