Drilling stand?
Is it safe structuraly for me to drill a hole in the side of my stand to run a small piece of tubing through for my auto op-off? I can run it through the opening in the back if I have to, but it would be easier this way. Will it weaken the integrity of the stand?

I don't see why it would. Most of the weight is supported on the framework of the stand anyway. As long as you are just drilling through the sheets of wood and not through the frame it would be fine.

If you drill a small hole, not right at the edge (closest to center if 1X material like my stand), it will not have any effect on the structure of your stand. Go in your basement, look up at all the holes made for pipes and such. When sizing for support a hole through center does not count while an edge cut out does.
