Ozone?
I've heard a lot about the water clearing benefits of adding ozone to a tank lately. What is it, how does it work and what does it take to add it to a tank? What are some other benefits of it? I'm having problems getting that Ultra-Clear water.

Ozone makes for super clear water. I don't have one but know some who rave about it and some who ditched their system.
I don't know whats the good one. People will chime in though. from what I can tell you need to buy the $$$ one to be more than happy. Filtersocks and skimming seem to work great for me.

Ozone very effectively breaks down organic waste making a skimmer much more efficient. It clears the water so well your fish will look like they are floating in air. Using ozone is not a matter to be taken lightly however. You can't just add an ozonizer, flip it on and walk away.
This is a very complicated subject and like everything in this hobby there will be those on both sides of the issue. I have attached a very good article on the matter by Albert Thiel that explains it better then I ever could. From what I have heard and seen properly applied, it can't be beat. http://www.netpets.com/fish/referenc...ielbook13.html RH |

love ozone. I mean not smell of it (it's bad if you sense a hint of the odor) but my tank is clearer now.
ozone shouldn't be taken lightly and use every precation.
