What is proper bio-spira use?

Hi all. Got a 30 gallon freshwater tank. Planning on 2 schools of fish (tetra and rasboras probably) and maybe a couple khuli loaches. So, what is the proper way to use Bio-spira? I hear many conflicting reports. Here are the 2 main arguments I hear:

1. Add bio-spira to tank without any fish then add ammonia or food, let tank fully cycle (which should only take a few days) then add a few fish at a time over a few weeks until fully stocked.

2. Add bio-spira and full load of fish at same time.

Which of these is correct or if neither is, what is the correct procedure? I'm an analytical over thinker so the more specific you are, the better I learn

Uh your in a saltwater forum for reef tanks and saltwater fish. I would try a freshwater forum somewhere they may be of more help.

salt water. first start your ammonia and when detectable add bio spira and it does work youll see

While this is a dedicated saltwater forum, the answer to your question is the same for both salt water and fresh water aquariums

I've used the commercial bio spira straight from Marineland, and it does work quite fast (a couple of days). However, I would advise putting in the bio spira and spiking the tank with an ammonia source first. Let those bacteria settle down and get to work, than start adding the fish. Aquarium keeping is a hobby of patience, go slow and good things happen
