Lighting

I am getting a 2x400w MH retro and was wondering if this was too much wattage for a 75 gal. I was thinking that if i hung them up high enough that it wouldnt be that bad. Let me know what you think.

thats over 10 watts a gallon, you could do it but why not use just enough light to to get the job done, plus look at all the extra energy used and heat transfer to the tank is also going to be an issue and your going to have to deal with algae issues.

Current Tank Info: 75g reef ready with 40 gallon trigger sump/refugium , tunze power head, vectra 2 return pump, Kessil AP9X lighting, reef octopus skimmer and have a battery back for both pumps.
