How do I get my new Clown Goby out of my internal overflow??
That fish didn't even bother to read the directions I posted inside the tank. Within an hour of putting him in the tank, he jumped the wall and is in the overflow of my AGA 180g. My fault totally because I had a mesh guard over the overflow and I had removed it to clean it.
So, how do you suggest I get it out. On my old 75g it was easy because of the depth. Anybody ever use a "slurp gun" in the wild or in their tank?? I may try to make one. Any other ideas?? As it is, I am going to have to remove the overflows and try to net him. Oh well, it's an excuse to clean. |

Years ago when I had that problem, I just used a piece of 3/4" hose, started a siphon into a cooler (or just a large enough bucket), then sucked him up. If you don't have enough sump capacity, you might need to shutdown your return pump then do this. I have also attached a coat hanger to the end of a VERY small brine shrimp net to scoop him up when he was dumb the second time.
