Purchased new reef setup, please help with setup

I bought this setup and took it home about a week ago. It's an Oceanic 58G reef ready with a 20G sump. Oceanic only provides instructions for plumbing the overflow. No instructions for the sump

. I realize this is probably very simple for most, but I have no clue

.

Below are a few pics. The overflow I dry fit because it came with instructions, but below the overflow is still in pieces

Overflow;

Which hose goes through the hole at the top of the sump?

I believe the black box laying next to the sump is for the bioballs. I have read here not to use the bioballs. Do I leave that black box out of the sump then?

hook the gray hose to the piece of pve in the overflow box that has the upside down u shape to it and that goes to the hole in the sump. that is your drain.

the black hose goes from your return pump to the piece of pvc that has the locline comming from it. and yes leave the black box out.

Leave the black box out because Bi-Balls produce nitrates..

The LFS gave me a RIO 1400, is that the return pump? As you can see they were not very helpful when I picked up my system

The small canister dividing the sump, the water drains into the right side of it? Then where does that water go?

This is just a dry fit, but is this right?

And some extra parts I should be using somewhere

What would this be for? Its a hinged piece of glass, I thought it was a top for the sump, but it's too big.

looks right to me. the extra parts look to be extra's for if one cracks or such. yes the water will drin till it goes over the glass divivder to help with micro bubbles. the glass in the last pic. looks like just a cover for the sump.

The larger bulkhead on your tank is that a barb connection? I think you should use the other large bulkhead and then one of the larger PVC fittings. Use the threaded to barb fitting on the RIO, scure your hose with the hose clamps. The larger bulkhead you have on your tank might be for the sump top hard to tell with it installed. Tank should drain into the larger side of the sump and return on the smaller. Do leave the bioballs out as they have been know to collect stuff in them, if you do not clean them, and cause nitrates.

I'm going to check that out now. So the drain empties into the larger end and return on the smaller end?

Yep the "bio chamber" (black box) would go on the lager side of the tank if you were to use it. The water would drain from the tank via the spa hose into the sump over the bio chamber.

Then use the bulkhead you removed from your tank for the sump top. You will connect the other grey pvc to the BH.

This is the drain pipe and the fitting you have pointed to, the drain pipe does not fit into this fitting.

As you can see, this fitting has threads, I put an adapter on the thread and the drain pipe still won't fit.

This is as I had it connected to the overflow, it fit nicely;

Instruction sheet for overflow plumbing;

Oceanics website seems like it's down. I'm going to call them tomorrow.

The issue I'm having is with how the drain hose connects the BH in the third pic. I couldn't tell if the BH were slip or threaded on the inside. Does that seem right to everyone to have that drian connected to a barb connection?

I don't think you will have any problems doing it that way. I would personally push the drain hose as far up on the barb as possible and then use one of those black clamps to make sure you won't get any leaks.
