Opinions on Tigershark-line of magnet cleaners?
Just wondering what everyone else thinks about these magnet cleaners:Expensive Magnet Cleaner
I've been using one on my 110g acrylic for a few months now, and I have to say: I can't see how it's worth the extra price. Compared to my other cheap-o magnet cleaner, the magnets on this do not seem extra strong. It still skids and skidders as I pull it along the panes. The 'acrylic safe' pad does leave fine scratches on acrylic. (I had to cut a pad of supersoft cloth to replace it. And 'no', nothing was caught in the pad.) The inner piece does float, which is nice. But it floats on my cheap-o, also. Then again, don't most float? So far, the only part of it that justifies the significant added expense is that the the outer piece is made of a nicely stained hardwood. Oooo, nice wood... Am I missing something?
