They are garbage. Last years model and this years. The fans blow out within a couple of weeks. The ballasts fry every couple of months and aquatraders has crappy customer service so it takes forever to get replacement parts. Dont waste your money on them. Take that money, save some more, and buy a quality lighting fixture.

I agree with all stated. i have purchased three of their lights. the 48" 260W PC the 36" 192 PC and the 24" T5 HO. I bought these all within 6 months that is why I continued to buy them.
I bought the 36"PC first. It seemed to be a great fixture except the fans were noisy. My corals seem to be doing great (softies). Then after a year the ballast went out. The good thing is I found a quality ballast to replace the blown one for around $20 shipped. I Decided to upgrade to Bluewave MH setup instead and I am so glad I did. That tank looks a million times better now. The T5 fixture was crap from the get go. It barley lit the 10G it was on. The screw in incadescent bulbs it came with looked better. The 260 W is a little over a year old and still kicking but the fans are long gone (I think they made it about a month). It is on a freshwater tank though so as far as how corals would like it I can not say. |

you get what you pair for, mine never set on fire like everyone says but with discount bulbs and a discount ballast the quality just isn't there. save your money, buy quality everytime, it will make you broke if you try to cut corners (except for DIY stuff) in this hobby IMO

I bought a small 18w unit to fit on a 2.5g tank for $20. I had it for about two years, I was very happy with the unit. I recently sold the setup to someone else.

Mine have burned twice. And by burned I mean caught fire.
I dismantled mine the other day for parts. |
