Rock Rack

I'm in the process of having a 95g tank built (36x30x20). My wife would like a pretty open tank and would like to stray away from the typical pile of rocks look in the tank.

I've been looking into the PVC Rock Racks to achieve this. I'm at a crossroads as to whether to turn the rock rack into a closed loop or not. I've read in a few places that it's not a good idea to drill holes in the PVC unless you plan on using it as a CLS as bad things can make the PVC a home. I'm not sure another safe way to "sink" the pvc other than drilling the holes.

I have an extra Panworld 50px pressurized pump laying around that would work perfect to hook up to it.

I need to let the builders know whether or not to drill for the CLS. There is plenty of flow regardless of the CLS or not. I'll have another one of the same pumps as a return from the sump as well as 2 of the new nano stream 6055s hooked up to a 7095 controller.

Please help me make a decision.
