choris wrasse hiding?

yesterday i added a juvenile choris wrasse to my display, within 2 hours he was unable to be seen?

is this natural behaviour for a wrasse?

and before you go asking, my powerheads are empty and covered by sponge. and the outlet is also impossible for it to go into the sump.

ideas?

This is perfectly normal for wrasses. Most, such as the Coris, will bury themselves under the sand. They usually come out and look around within a day or so of being added, but sometimes it can be several days until they finally emerge.

Yup, mine did the same thing. After a day or so he came out, now he's very active and out all day long and burys himself in the sand each night a few minutes after the lights go out.

The fish will also bury itself every time it is startled.

a few days without food wont hurt him, he's probably picking at the LR anyway, so he won't starve... give him time, he'll get comforable and soon a minute won't go by without you seeing him
