do a search on RC for pipefish and reef tanks.. there were a couple of very good threads not that long ago. They talked about the different pipefish, their husbandry requirements and success/failure stories.

Seahorses and pipefish require low current, usually lower than most peoples reeftanks. They are found in the bay areas... I have kept a seahorse in a reeftank before, but I had to overfeed since the seahorse moves slower than the rest of the other fish in the reef.

Keep in mind that pipefish survive mostly on live food. Very few eat anything else. You need lots and lots of pods for them to survive. They will also eat red bugs that are associated with SPS corals.

I have a pipefish in my 75g with 60x turnover, he has no problems. He however is a "sedentary" type, not an open water swimmer. The problem is that he does not eat prepared foods, only pods off the rock. There is not enough rock in a 14g tank to have a sustainable population of food for a pipefish.

I remember when zoanthids were called things like "green" and "orange" and not "reverse gorilla nipple."
