tunze nano wow.!
So i just replaced my SEIO 820 (a great pump) with a Tunze nano. I replaced it only because its just to big for a little 30 Gal tank. The nano does not move as much water but wow what a great pump. I am going to get a second for the other side now. With the SEIO I have a huge dead spot under the pump because it sticks out 6 inches into the tank. With the tunze I can aim the pump down and have almost 0 dead spots and it takes up 1/10 th the space.
I love when something goes right for a change. There is one part on the tunze I dont like the small clips that hold the pump to the magnet. I almost broke them off attaching them. They seem cheap for a top of the line pump. |

1/10th? That's being a little generous . It's a nice pump though. I love the ability to point it in almost any direction. I'm using 2 of the Nanos in my 55g on alternating 2 hour timers (I don't need a lot of flow for what I'm keeping). They work great. I "downgraded" from modded maxi jets because they were way too strong.

ok so 1/10th is an Exaggeration but you get my point. It makes my tank look less clutterd, moves a good amount of water and I can point it anywhere. The SEIO which I really liked could only be pointed down like 45 degrees and because it stuck out 6 inches or so I had a massive dead spot that was prone to get algae blooms and crud build up.

Do you think two would be too much in my AP 24. I am looking for some new fow options. I am running the stock pump and it has good flow with the spray bar I built, but I want to upgrade it. Jon
Could you post some pics of the nano streams??? |

Well I am no expert so take this with a grain of salt.
I have always heard you can never have too much flow. that if the water stays in the tank you dont have too much. So in my 30 Gal tank i currently have a Maxi jet 1200 and a tunze nano. one on either side of the tank the tunze cover in front of my live rock and the maxi jet is aimed behind it so I dont get a deadspot back there. I had just the seio 820 for a few months and had algae problems when I added the maxi jet to the tank my Akgae problems were cut in half. I think the extra flow helped. |

If you have fine sand that wouldn't fly.
Nice tank

Yeah well I would take fine sand over the large grain sized I used. Try to keep what I have clean.. thats the biggest mistake I made setting the tank up. It holds too much debris I have to vacume it weekly.

I am running 2 6000's on a multicontroller in a 38 gallon. I have them cranked way up so I would say that 2 nano's would be fine ALittleSalty.
