How many cerith snails for.......
How many cerith snail should I use in my 12 gallon to keep the sand bed clean?

I think I have 6 or 8 of them in my 20 long. (2.5" oolite sand bed)
But I also have other snails and crabs as well. They are pretty small so I'd say start with 4 of them. It's easier to add more if you need them then find a cerith in the sand bed. |

They are usually always in the sandbed and they do a pretty good job. What other cleaning crew members do you have in your tank? I would not count on them cleaning the sand bed alone.

I have 1 lawnmower blenny (seems to pick at sand alot), 2 margarita snails, 4 hermits, 1 astraea snail. So far!
