which is wrong- ph probe or salifert test?

I'm trying to bring my ph up and I don't know which to believe- pinpoint ph probe (re-calibrated twice) or salifert ph test? Salifert looks like 8.0, but pinpoint says 8.28~8.3?

If the pinpoint is calibrated and match they solutions correctly I'll go with it. Thanks for remind me that I need to calibrate mine

that's what I thought, but why would the salifert be so off? The test water shows up light green (8.0 on the scale) and 8.3 is dark green. It's not even close?

I agree, if you have calibrated the pinpoint with 7.0 and 10.0. Assuming that the probe is in reasonable shape, go with the pinpoint, colorimetric tests are notoriously hard to read.

I had a real hard time trying to decipher the Salifert PH test kit myself. Then I got my Reefkeeper II and calibrated the probe and the readings were off by .2 or so.

Definitely go with the Pinpoint w/a proper calibration and a good probe. Titration tests are hard to read, especially the color ones. Alot will depend on the lighting and angle you look at the test vial.
