light fixture for 125g

Hey everybody,

I got a question about what light is good for a 125g. It is a tank with fiji leather coral, metallic green star polyps, mushrooms, candy coral...
I have a 55 g right now but would upgrade. The current light I have is the Orbit fixture. Would a fluorscent light fixture be ok for a 125g or should I upgrade to a T5 or metal halide? Would my corals even survive in a 125 g with fluoroscent light since that tank is deeper than my current 55g??!!!!

Thanks, guys

I'm guessing the orbit fixture is a PC fixture. If so the corals you mention would be OK under those lights. Not too sure about the fiji leather. I think they need a pretty intense light. The 125g is a 6' tank so the 48" fixture wouldn't work on it.

If you are going to upgrade I would look at the T5HO fixtures available. They will compare in intensity to the Metal Halides lights.

Yes the orbit is a PC fixture. My Fiji leather has been fine, I located it more towards the top. And I have had it for over 6 months now.
I know that the 48" fixture wont fit on the 125g I was just wondering if the light will be strong enough....
Thanks for the info !!!!
