Using a skimmer to feed main display.

I am planning on upgrading from my 29 to a 45gal tank. I plan to go BB in the main display and use my old 29 gal for a RDSB. I will have the main display feed into the RDSB and then pump into my FUGE. My fuge will also feed back into my RDSB. The only water i want going to back into the display is from my skimmer in the FUGE. The only problem is that i have a HOB aqua c remova skimmer and really have no easy way to output the water back into the display.

Is this even worth the trouble?
