What to treat the water with?

I am starting to fill my tank 75 AGA and I am wondering what people use for water treatment? In the past I have used Amquel for all of my Freshwater tanks, and I am just curious if that can still be used, if there is a specific Water Conditioner for salt water, or if they are even nesscessary?

Yes, I am using tap water, and yes I know that distilled water is better, but at this time, I do not have access to anything but tap water.

Also, is there anything else that you put in your tank to get the conditions correct before you add fish (which I am still weeks away from doing)?

thanks
benihana

I just use regular tap water conditioner. In the future I would at least do your water changes with distilled or drinking water. I buy 2.5 gallon jugs of spring water from walmart to do my water changes. It might save you from some bad algae outbreaks in the future. I don't have a good place for a ro/di unit so I buy my ater from walmart.

2 questions

1 - how much is the 2.5 ga. of water

2 - do you still use water conditioner on spring water?

Thanks again

Ben
