My 75 gal, One Year Anniversary

I started this tank on February 1, 2006. It's a 75gal acrylic with a 15 gal wet and dry system that was coverted to a sump. The lighting system on it was a power compact JBJ 4x65 watt. I started with softie then got into LPS and SPS. In July, I upgraded the light to a T5 8x54 watt, i know, crazy, too much light so i took two of the bulbs out. Thanks to Grimmreefer with his info on what bulb to use. In September, I upgraded my sump to a 40 gallon, man, that helped out a lot with the water changing, I should have done that earlier in the stage. Here are some pictures of my tank transforming from Feb 2006 to Feb 2007. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as i did, and yes, there were a lot of fish and corals that died during the tranformation. The first three pictures of the tank was in February when I started to set up the tank and went through the cycling stage. The 4th picture was in March and so forth. I learned a lot through RC members and thanks for all the help.

Beautiful my man! here is what I would do for lighting:

2x250 metal halide retro fit. With 20k bulbs.

2 250w ballasts on ebay, same ones I use for 51 shipped each

I like 20k XM bulbs they look nice and do not need any supplementing. They run for 66 dollars shipped to your door on ebay.

Then you need a reflector, and an extention chord and you're done!

great setup! hows the sps growth under those lights? i only have 4 T5 bulbs on a 72 bowfront.

Your lighting is fine, I prefer HQI metal halides. But thats just me.

Thanks, My SPS are doing fine under T5. My corals are growing like crazy. The only bad thing is that my softie and LPS are getting bigger and bigger and are touching the SPS and stringing them, I might set up another tank just for SPS and run it off the same sump, what do you guy think?

How many fish do you have in this tank? Do you have 5 yellow tangs?

I had five yellow tangs, three i sold to my buddy, one die on me from fighting with the other and one got kill by my clam, i have no idea how that happen. Now i have 1 purlpe tang, 1 flame angel, 2 blue damsel, 1 maroon clown, 2 anthias and a lawnmower blenny

Here are some new pictures that i took today. My tank is doing well and the coral are getting bigger and bigger each day. Hopefully one day I will upgrade the tank to a 150 gal. 48"x30"x24''. Thanks for looking.
