Closed Loop System

So im bascily done with the filteration and the lighting, and a few people suggested i need more flow, and suggested a closed loop system. Yet I can drill holes so it has to be over the top. So far I have two designs im contemplating.

Anyone have any idea which will give me less dead spots?

Also what would be a good external pump to use, and the GPH?

You want to do the one with the most water outlets in this case it's the Calfo with loc line.
